Olivia Pallone

My practice begins with experimentation and process, material outcomes differ according to the use of different media used to develop my work. Works begin with personal narratives arising from intuition, culture, and recollection derived from feelings and emotions. I am currently working on a video examining forms of comfort, in particular: consumerism, as means for cultural control. When constructing the form of the video I have taken inspiration from techniques such as the Kuleshov effect as defined by English American film director Alfred Hitchcock (1899 – 1980), and the structure of American artist, Natalie Bookchin’s (1964-) video practice.
