Mitchell Parsons – NEED ARTWORKS

I work between painting and photography sometimes working solely in one medium, or the other. I work mostly in 35 mm black and white analogue film/printing as well as alternative processes.  I am currently working with the cyanotype photographic printing process which was a low-cost process invented to produce copies of drawings, referred to as blueprints. I have photographed intimate encounters of a friend, which I then print directly into random pages in found books. I source these books randomly from the op shop and they form a personal collection. Placing these images in the books provides an intimate encounter for the viewer and creates a history that is not real. What I have learnt is a better understanding of manual production and how this relates to my art making practice.
