Dylan Jones

For the past few years I have predominantly worked in the field of self portraiture and the archive, exploring concepts of identity, family and memory through photography. The work I have made has allowed me to re-contextualise and understand significant experiences in my life and upbringing, which in turn has helped me to realise how I have adapted to overcome adversity.  My new series explores the recent passing of my paternal grandmother Noeline. I have sourced images of my grandmother, myself and family from my family archive. Using these images to cover my face, the audience may begin to make connections between the images depicted and my identity. This has allowed me to explore the connection between my grandmother and myself.
