Brighid Walton

My artworks engage with the man/nature relationship, our effect on the Earth including our non-human neighbours. I specialise in the medium of pyrography, otherwise known as wood burning, and employ a traditional, strongly observational method to create my forms, with a focus on detail and tone and depicting the subject as true to life as possible. I aim to inform the audience and encourage consideration of one’s own impact on the wider world around us. My passion for portraying this subject matter and the various issues surrounding it is drawn from a long-standing interest in the biological world and the Anthropocene epoch we currently live in.
